METODE PEMBELAJARAN INQUIRY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR SEJARAH KELAS VIII

ABSTRAK

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untu: 1) mengetahui apakah penerapan metode inquiry dapat mrningkatkkan hasil belajar siswa. 2) mengetahui bagaimana proses penggunaan metode inquiry pada pembelajarn sejarah agar lebih efektif dan efisien. Manfaat dari penelitian ini adaah untuk : 1) membantu mempermudahkan siswa dalam menguasa materi sesuai standar kkompotensi dan kompotensi dasar, 2) meningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah, 3) meningkatkan sikap mental, dan rasa tanggung jawab siswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas dari guru yang nantinya berguna bagi siswa dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, 4) membantu pencapaian target ketuntasan belajar, 5) menambah refrensi guru tentang pendekatan pengajaran, sehingga siswa tidak mengalami kebosanan, dan 6) meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam membuat ersiapan pengajaran,sehingga nantinya KBM dapat berlangsung secara efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakaan kelas (PTK). Setiap akir siklus dilakukan refleksi atau evaluasi untu mengetahui perkembangan yang terjadi dan untu menentukan strategi berikutnya dalam pembelajaran dengan menerapaakan metode pembelajaran inquiry. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan aktivitas siswa yakni 60,42% pada masa pra siklus, 70,76% pada siklus I 84,10% siklus II. Hasil belajar (nilai rata- rata) mengalami peningkatan dari 64,37% pada masa pra siklus, 70,24% pada siklus I dan 77,30% pada siklus II. Sealan dengan hasil belajar, tingkat ketuntasan klasikal-pun mengalami peningkatan yakni 58,33% pada masa pra siklus, 77,78% pada siklus I dan 97,22% pada siklus II. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajara inquiry dalam proses belajar mengajar dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar. Pendekatan inquiry diharapan dapat diterapkan pada materi yang lain dengan tujuan meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajqr siswa.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to: 1) find out whether the application of the inquiry method can improve student learning outcomes. 2) find out how the process of using inquiry methods in history learning to be more effective and efficient. The benefits of this study are to: 1) help make it easier for students to master the material according to the basic competency and potential standards, 2) increase student learning outcomes in history subjects, 3) improve mental attitude, and students' sense of responsibility in completing assignments from teachers who later it will be useful for students in social life, 4) help achieve the target of learning completeness, 5) increase teacher reference about the teaching approach, so students do not experience boredom, and 6) increase the ability of teachers to make teaching preparation, so that later KBM can take place effectively and efficient. This research is a classroom action research (CAR). Each end of the cycle is carried out a reflection or evaluation to find out developments that occur and to determine the next strategy in learning by applying inquiry learning methods. The results of this study indicate that an increase in student activity is 60.42% in the pre-cycle, 70.76% in the first cycle 84.10% cycle II. Learning outcomes (average value) increased from 64.37% in the pre-cycle, 70.24% in the first cycle and 77.30% in the second cycle. In line with learning outcomes, the classical completeness level also increased by 58.33% in the pre-cycle, 77.78% in the first cycle and 97.22% in the second cycle. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry inquiry method in teaching and learning can improve learning activities and outcomes. The inquiry approach is expected to be applied to other materials with the aim of increasing student learning activities and outcomes.
