Every individual (student) needs discipline because with discipline students can behave in a non-deviant manner. With discipline students can understand and adjust to the demands of the environment, can regulate the balance of individual desires with each other, keep students away from doing things that are prohibited by the school, encourage students to do good and right things. Guidance and Counseling services are one of the systems that can help improve student discipline. Guidance and Counseling teachers are expected to provide services to improve this discipline. This study is a qualitative study, to explore the Guidance and Counseling services available at SMPN 17 Medan, especially the provision of services to improve student discipline. The results of the study show that curative services are more emphasized when meeting students who are not disciplined, while preventive services are used through group and individual guidance techniques.
